# 🏒 Jets Score 4 Goals in Final 2:39 to Stun the Canadiens: The Latest Comeback Miracle in NHL History｜AI Sports Daily

## Opening

Down by four with 2:39 left on the clock. And then? The Jets ripped off four straight goals and beat the Canadiens 5-4 in overtime, completing the latest four-goal comeback in NHL history. I'm Mu Yan, and this is the "AI Sports Daily." Today we're also talking about Curry dropping 29 to pass the Big O for 17th on the all-time scoring list, a shooting milestone that makes LeBron the first player ever to reach it, and why a $20 million salary suddenly stopped getting paid. Details coming up.

## Today's Big Stories

### 1. Jets stun Canadiens 5-4 in OT, latest four-goal comeback in NHL history
- **What happened**: Per ESPN's November 4 report, Montreal led 4-0 before Tyrel Bauer scored his first career goal with 2:39 remaining. The Jets then poured in four goals in 2:08, with Kyle Connor tying it up with 32 seconds left, and Samberg sealing it 3:30 into overtime.
- **Why it matters**: This is the latest-starting four-goal comeback in NHL history (57:21 on the clock), breaking a record the Kings had held since 2007. It also snapped a nine-game losing streak for the Jets. If you were writing a rock-bottom-to-redemption script, it'd look a lot like this. The Canadiens, meanwhile, responded to the historic collapse with a simple "no excuses." Tough night.

### 2. Curry's 29 points passes the Big O as Warriors win 120-100 for sixth straight
- **What happened**: Golden State beat the Heat 120-100 at home, with Curry scoring 29 and Yaxel Lendeborg adding 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. Miami got hit with a 26-9 run in the third quarter, and Giannis's 20 points and 14 rebounds weren't enough to turn it around.
- **Why it matters**: The three-pointer Curry hit with 7:03 left in the first quarter officially moved him past Oscar Robertson's 26,710 points and into 17th on the NBA's all-time scoring list. The Warriors have also gone from an 0-3 start to a six-game winning streak, which is a pretty sharp turn.

### 3. LeBron hits 16,000 career made field goals, the first player ever
- **What happened**: On a packed 14-game November 4 slate, LeBron James posted 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists to become the first player in NBA history to cross 16,000 career made field goals.
- **Why it matters**: Everyone knows about the all-time scoring record, but made field goals is a different kind of endurance stat. You have to keep making shots, and keep doing it for a very long time, to get there. One bit of trivia from the same roundup: the Trail Blazers passed the 7-2 Rockets to sit atop the Western Conference for the first time since November 2022.

### 4. Warriors withhold Porzingis's $20 million salary as he leans toward retirement
- **What happened**: Per CBS Sports, citing November 4 reporting from ESPN's Anthony Slater and Shams Charania, the Warriors have stopped paying Kristaps Porzingis on the grounds of "failure to render services." He hasn't returned to team facilities since leaving in October, and the organization no longer considers it an approved absence.
- **Why it matters**: The Warriors aren't planning to void the contract outright. They want to move it before the February 11 trade deadline. The 31-year-old Porzingis, for his part, is leaning toward retirement. A six-game winning streak on one side, an unsolvable headache on the other: two very different moods in the same building.

### 5. 2026 Silver Slugger finalists announced: Ohtani, Trout, and PCA all in, Brewers land three
- **What happened**: Louisville Slugger released its Silver Slugger finalists by position, headlined by MVP frontrunners Pete Crow-Armstrong and Yordan Alvarez, along with Shohei Ohtani, Pete Alonso, Bobby Witt Jr., Mike Trout, and Tatis Jr. World Series champion Milwaukee landed three finalists in Bauers, Chourio, and Turang.
- **Why it matters**: Winners are announced November 17, and since this is the last award handed out, that date is effectively the period at the end of the 2026 season. The Brewers winning a title and still putting three players on the list says plenty about their roster depth.

### 6. MLB hot stove opens: Skubal and Teruaki Sato top the market as the lockout clock ticks
- **What happened**: NBC Sports' 2026-27 free agent tracker is live, with its Top 100 headlined by lefties Tarik Skubal and Freddy Peralta plus Japanese slugger Teruaki Sato. Meanwhile, CBS Sports laid out this winter's biggest question mark: the collective bargaining agreement expires December 1, and nobody knows whether the dispute escalates into a lockout, or even bleeds into the 2027 season.
- **Why it matters**: The offseason started the moment the Brewers recorded the final out of the World Series. There's real talent on the market, but a labor storm cloud hanging over everything. Whether teams rush to sign players before the deadline should make the next few weeks interesting.

## Closing

If you only remember one thing from today, make it the Jets' four goals in 2:08, wiping out a nine-game skid in one go and rewriting an NHL record that had stood for nearly two decades. Looking ahead, the November 17 Silver Slugger announcement will officially close the book on the MLB season, while the December 1 CBA deadline is the biggest storyline of the entire winter. I'm Mu Yan, this has been the "AI Sports Daily," and I'll see you next time.
