# Fixing the Broken Stylelint Auto-Fix in VS Code by Installing an Older Version of the Extension

## The Problem
After a recent VS Code extension auto-update, I noticed that the Stylelint auto-fix feature stopped working.

## The Fix
Disable VS Code's auto-update for extensions and install an older version of the Stylelint extension.

## What is Stylelint
[See my earlier post](https://blog.markkulab.net/2021/09/14/stylelint/)

## Installing the older VS Code extension

### 1. Download the older extension 0.87.6 (paired with stylelint 13.13.1)
[Download link](https://www.vsixhub.com/go.php?post_id=73333&s=private&link=https%3A%2F%2Ff2.vsixhub.com%2Ffile.php%3Fpost_id%3D73333%26app_id%3Dec35b5a3-9802-4c68-b5ff-e85f19ec0977%26version%3D0.87.6%26ext_name%3Dvscode-stylelint)
Or downgrade through the UI.

### 2. Disable auto-update for the extension

### 3. Install via VSIX

### 4. Stylelint auto-fix is back to normal
