# 📣 Google AI Mode packs four ad slots into a single answer, while Prada's Christmas campaign returns to hand-drawn art | AI Marketing Daily

## Opening

Google's AI Mode now stacks up to four text ads beneath its answers. The monetization push for this new AI search real estate is clearly accelerating, which means ranking logic and impression expectations both need to be recalculated. Meanwhile, the wind is blowing in exactly the opposite direction elsewhere: Levi's and Prada deliberately leaned into stop-motion and hand-drawn animation for their Christmas ads this year, making "made by human hands" the selling point. There's also a newly tallied figure for AI-generated political ad spending, big number, questionable results. More on that in a moment. I'm Mu Yan, and this is the AI Marketing Daily.

## Today's AI Marketing Highlights

### 1. A fourth ad slot appears beneath Google AI Mode answers
- **What happened**: According to PPC Land's November 5 roundup, Search Engine Roundtable reported on November 4 that for certain queries, Google AI Mode (the search mode built around AI-generated answers) can now stack four text ads beneath its response. The source also noted that Google Chief Business Officer Philipp Schindler previously said AI Mode monetizes at a lower rate, and explained that Google is expanding ads in AI Overviews and AI Mode to more users and more queries.
- **The marketer's take**: More ad slots means the competition and ranking logic under a single AI answer won't work the same way as a traditional search results page. Impression positions and click behavior for brand terms and competitor terms are both worth re-auditing. The source provides no CTR or cost data, so it's too early to assume "more slots means cheaper."
- **What you can do now**: Pick a few of your core query terms, check on an actual device how many ads currently appear beneath the AI Mode answer and where you rank, and save a screenshot as a baseline.

### 2. This week in martech: Oracle's AI content platform, six Sprinklr marketing AI agents in beta
- **What happened**: MarTech's weekly roundup reports that Oracle launched an AI content platform that can repurpose marketing assets and personalize digital ads, while Sprinklr opened beta access to six interoperable marketing AI agents within its customer experience platform. Separately, Bluefish extended its agentic marketing platform into paid media, unifying organic and paid performance across conversational AI channels. The actual publication date of this roundup isn't noted in the source, so we can only call it a "weekly roundup" and can't confirm specific launch dates.
- **The marketer's take**: The common thread is that agents are no longer bolt-on utilities, they're moving toward workflow integration that connects asset production through to deployment. That said, most of these are either newly launched or still in beta, and none of the three vendors provided verifiable performance figures in the source material.
- **What you can do now**: Start by auditing the most labor-intensive stage of your own workflow (usually asset versioning or cross-channel reporting), then map that against what these agents claim to take over, rather than letting a feature list lead you around.
- **Source**: MarTech (<https://martech.org/the-latest-ai-powered-martech-news-and-releases/>)

### 3. The "AI slop election" wraps up: $169 million in Republican AI-generated ads tallied
- **What happened**: Gizmodo reported on November 4 that, according to one research organization's tally, Republicans and their allies spent $169 million on AI-generated ads this election season, including content depicting opponents at satanic altars and cartoonish caricatures twisting a yoga instructor into a pretzel. Per Gizmodo's reporting, the ads failed to move voters.
- **The marketer's take**: This is a cautionary tale at meaningful scale. AI makes asset production cheap, but piling up exaggerated content doesn't automatically convert into persuasion, and it raises the pressure around disclosure and credibility. The data comes from a single research organization, and positions differ on both the effectiveness and the regulation of AI political ads, so we won't take sides here.
- **What you can do now**: Add an "is this asset AI-generated" field to your internal asset inventory, so at minimum you can always answer who made it and how.
- **Source**: Gizmodo (<https://gizmodo.com/the-first-ai-slop-election-is-over-the-slop-isnt-going-anywhere-2000835215>)

### 4. Levi's goes stop-motion as anti-AI becomes this year's Christmas ad theme
- **What happened**: Creative Bloq reported on November 4 that after Coca-Cola's AI Christmas ad drew the most controversy last year and McDonald's pulled a holiday video amid backlash, this year has seen a clear counter-movement, with major brands deliberately emphasizing handcrafted work. Levi's stop-motion spot was singled out as the standout example. The report argues brands are no longer just avoiding the "AI content" label, they're actively flagging that their ads were made by human hands.
- **The marketer's take**: "Handmade" is being used as a differentiation signal, and that's a real shift for holiday-season creative briefs: the production method itself may now be part of the message. But the cost and timeline of the handcrafted route come back too, and you can't save your way out of that with new positioning.
- **What you can do now**: Review your year-end campaign assets, identify which ones use generative elements, and prepare your answer and disclosure approach in advance.
- **Source**: Creative Bloq (<https://creativebloq.com/news/levis-stop-motion-masterpiece-is-a-lesson-in-christmas-advertising>)

### 5. Prada commissions veteran animators for a hand-drawn Christmas ad
- **What happened**: The Cool Down reported on November 5 that Prada's Christmas campaign uses hand-drawn animation instead of generative AI, with live-action shot by photographer Glen Luchford and creative direction by Ferdinando Verderi. The report also notes that Coca-Cola drew criticism for AI Christmas ads in both 2024 and 2025, and frames Prada's approach as a response to backlash against AI imagery.
- **The marketer's take**: Brand equity in high-price categories is the hardest thing to reconcile with the perception that "a machine made this ad." The risk cost far outweighs the production savings. As for whether AI imagery is a brand risk or an efficiency tool, both camps are still talking past each other and there's no settled answer.
- **What you can do now**: If you work on a high-ticket brand, define an internal line now: which tiers of assets can use AI assistance, and which key visuals are off-limits entirely.

## Closing

The thing worth remembering today is that two forces are moving at once: platforms keep opening more ad slots inside AI answers, while brands are retreating toward handcrafted work for the holiday season. Two things to watch next: whether Google AI Mode's fourth ad slot expands from select queries to broader coverage, and whether brands leaning into handmade production actually see a difference in conversation volume once this Christmas season wraps. I'm Mu Yan, AI Marketing Daily. See you tomorrow.
